Terms of Service

Last updated November 1, 2026

Part 1

Terms and conditions

1. Who we are

illumind (the "Service", at illumind.app) is operated by Inflexa ("we", "us"), a company registered in Tunisia, at APP N2 2EME ETAGE BLOC B, MONTPLAISIR, Bab El Bhar, Tunis, Tunisia. These terms govern your use of the Service. By using it you agree to them; if you do not, please do not use it.

2. The Service

illumind uses AI to make narrated, animated explainer videos from what you ask for, and to hold live lessons where an AI teacher answers you out loud and draws as it explains. You talk to an AI, not a person, in every part of the Service.

3. Who may use it

You must be at least 18 years old. You sign in with a Google account and are responsible for what happens under your account. One person, one account: accounts made to collect more free credits may be closed.

4. Credits

  • Videos and lessons are paid for in credits. A new account gets welcome credits once; a paid plan adds its credits each billing month.
  • A video's price is shown before you start it and is charged when it starts. If it fails, its credits are given back in full. If you stop it, you get back the share of it that was not made.
  • A lesson is charged each minute for what that minute used. It ends when your credits run out.
  • A plan's credits renew on each billing date; credits from the previous period that were not used expire. Welcome credits do not expire.
  • Credits can also be bought outright (top-ups). Bought credits do not expire, and a plan's credits are spent before them.
  • Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred or sold, and are not refunded when an account is closed. What a video or a lesson minute costs in credits may change; credits you hold keep their value.

5. Plans and payment

Paid plans are monthly subscriptions in US dollars. Payments are processed by Polar, our merchant of record, which also handles sales tax and invoices; by paying you also accept Polar's terms. A subscription renews each month until you cancel it, and you can cancel at any time: it then ends at the end of the period you paid for. We may change a plan's price with notice; the change applies from your next billing period.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • make content that is illegal, sexual, hateful, harassing, or that promotes violence or self-harm
  • make content that infringes anyone's copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights
  • deceive people: impersonating a real person, passing off AI content as a real recording, or spreading misinformation
  • present the content as legal, medical, financial or other professional advice
  • probe, overload, scrape or reverse engineer the Service, or reach it by automated means without our permission
  • resell or share access to the Service, or use its output to train AI models

We may remove content and suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

7. Your content and the videos you make

You keep the rights to what you give us: your requests, questions and anything you upload. You give us the permission we need to process it to run the Service, including sending it to the providers listed in the privacy policy.

As between you and us, the videos and other output you make are yours. On every plan you may use them for yourself, for study and teaching, and share them. On the Creator plan you may also use them commercially: publish them on monetized channels, in paid courses or in your business. Videos made while on another plan stay limited to non-commercial use.

AI output is not unique: someone else may get similar results. You are responsible for checking a video before you publish it, and for what you publish.

The voices are AI-generated. Where you publish a video, say that its narration is AI-generated wherever the platform or the law there asks you to.

8. AI makes mistakes

Videos and lessons are generated by AI and can contain errors, including wrong facts, wrong steps in a derivation or wrong drawings. Do not rely on them without checking what matters, and do not treat them as professional advice.

9. Our Service

The Service, its design, code and the illumind name belong to Inflexa. We may change, add or remove features, models and voices, and we may suspend the Service for maintenance or when a provider we depend on fails.

10. No warranty

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, uninterrupted operation, or fitness for a particular purpose.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Inflexa is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it.

12. Ending your account

You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your account. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts the Service or others at risk.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Tunisia. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Tunis, Tunisia, unless the law of your country gives you the right to bring them where you live.

Part 2

Privacy policy

1. Who we are and what we collect

Inflexa, at APP N2 2EME ETAGE BLOC B, MONTPLAISIR, Bab El Bhar, Tunis, Tunisia, is responsible for your personal data (the "controller"). Write to support@illumind.app about anything in this policy. We collect:

  • Your account: your email address, name and Google account identifier, from Google sign-in.
  • What you make: your video requests and settings, the questions you type or say in lessons (as text), and what the AI wrote and drew in reply, including the videos.
  • How the Service ran: what happened during a lesson on the page (playback, timing, microphone on or off), the kind of device and browser you used, and what each video or lesson used and cost.
  • Payments: handled by Polar. We learn your plan and its status, what you bought and any refunds, never your card details.

2. Why we use it

  • To provide the Service you signed up for (your account, videos, lessons, credits and payments): this is needed to perform our contract with you.
  • To keep it running safely (lesson logs, device type, preventing abuse and fixing problems): our legitimate interest in a reliable, secure Service.
  • To keep accounting records (usage, credits and payments): our legal obligations, and our legitimate interest in being able to answer questions about a charge.
  • Your voice in lessons: only when you turn voice on; you can turn it off at any time.

3. Your microphone

When you turn voice on in a lesson, your browser listens for speech and streams your voice directly to ElevenLabs, which turns it into text. Only that text reaches us; we do not receive or keep recordings of your voice.

4. Who processes your data

To make videos and lessons, we send what is needed to these providers:

  • OpenRouter, and the AI model providers it routes to (Anthropic, OpenAI, Google, DeepSeek, Moonshot AI): your requests and lesson conversations, and web searches when research is on
  • Cartesia and Inworld: the narration text, turned into speech
  • ElevenLabs: your voice in lessons, turned into text
  • Google: sign-in
  • Railway: hosting, our database and file storage
  • Polar: payments

Each processes data under its own terms and privacy policy, which may include keeping it for a while and, for some model providers, using it to improve their services. Some are outside your country, including in the United States; where the law requires safeguards for such transfers, we rely on those the providers offer in their data processing terms, such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Polar sells to you as merchant of record and is responsible for the payment data it collects. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or use your content to train AI models.

5. Storage in your browser

We keep your sign-in session and a few settings (theme, captions, how you talk in lessons) in your browser's local storage. We use no advertising or analytics cookies.

6. How long we keep it

  • Your videos: until you delete them or your account
  • Your account and lesson transcripts: until you delete your account
  • Detailed lesson logs: 30 days
  • Usage, credit and payment records: as long as needed for accounting, without your details once your account is deleted. We keep Polar's payment notices without your name, email or address
  • A one-way code made from your Google account, which cannot be turned back into it: kept after your account is deleted, so the welcome credits are given once per Google account (our legitimate interest in preventing abuse)
  • Payment records: by Polar, as the law requires

7. Your rights

You can delete your videos yourself in your library. By writing to support@illumind.app, you can ask us for a copy of your data (in a format you can take elsewhere), to correct it, to delete it and your account, to limit what we do with it, or object to a use based on our legitimate interests. We answer within 30 days. You can also complain to a data protection authority: in the EU, the one where you live or work; in Tunisia, the INPDP.

8. Security

Connections are encrypted, files are kept in private storage reached through short-lived links, and only we can reach the database. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell you if a breach affects your data.

Part 3

Refund policy

1. Credits, given back automatically

A video that fails is given its credits back in full, and a video you stop gets back the share that was not made. You do not need to ask.

2. Subscription payments

You may ask for a refund of a subscription payment within 14 days of it by writing to support@illumind.app. Requests are reviewed under Polar's terms and the consumer law that applies to you; a refund may be reduced by the credits already used in that period.

3. Bought credits

You may ask for a refund of a top-up within 14 days of buying it by writing to support@illumind.app, for the credits of it not yet used. Requests are reviewed under Polar's terms and the consumer law that applies to you. A refunded top-up's credits are taken back.

4. Cancelling

Cancel at any time. Your plan and its credits stay until the end of the period you paid for, then your account returns to Free.

Changes and contact

We may update this page. We will tell you about significant changes by email or in the Service before they apply; using the Service after that means you accept them.
